When it comes to music, I’m picky. And I’m lazy. I want my discovery to be passive. I usually don’t have to go further than Stefan to get recommendations, but I dig Gorilla vs. Bear. I dig Sirius LOC. And now, I dig InRadio.
We’ve been working with InRadio for the past few weeks to launch the IMP Media Taster, a lightweight, easy to implement player that let’s you sample full music and video tracks. Seeing it available is pretty cool.
The idea is simple. Plug the taster into your site (click the “share” button for the code snippet,) and InRadio (and, soon, other partners of your choosing) will make music recommendations for you each week. It’s a great implementation of BitTorrent technology.
You’re going to start seeing the taster popping up on sites across the Internet (there’s a smaller version available for sidebars as well.) Just remember you saw it here or here first.
Update: If you aren’t seeing the comments, Garrick has an interview with Dan Carroll, creator of imp at FirstCrackPodCast.

Oh, Aaron. Not only a Sirius faithful, but also a LOC listener? We could probably talk for hours about the horrible changes Sirius has made over the past few years (like jettisoning Folk Town and PRI) in addition to the welcome changes (moving LOC to include an occasional oldie).
Long live the little dog!

Yep. LOC and I are BFF.
A while back, I interviewed the mastermind behind IMP
Excellent - thanks for the link Garrick.
